I loved once,but never again
,I have been cut,but it never equaled the pain,
I have fought my corner,but always slain,
I loved once but never again.

Your pillowed promises I truly believed,
brought to your feet at the realization that
I was deceived, at my hurt your hurt was relieved,
I loved once,but never again. 

The cruel smile as hand in hand you walk by,
the unfinished drink into which I  uncontrollably cry,
the told you so friend unsympathetic because he was right,
I loved once, but never again.

I loved once,now maybe again,I have finally moved on from the hurt and the pain,
I have met a new love who keeps my heart safe,
I was in love once,and finally I am again.
